2019-2020 Indoor Season Summary

The 2019-2020 Pembroke Indoor Track & Field season was our best ever !

The team grew almost 50% in size, from 31 athletes last year to 45 this year.

For the first time ever we competed in JV meets as well as the the regular meets. We had a great group of freshman, some who moved up to varsity, and a few who even made it to the State Championships. They should form a solid core for our future teams.

In addition to our first JV meets we competed in our first indoor throwers only meet (against lots of Div I schools) and our first Team Pentathlon (also against lots of Div I schools).

There were a ton of PRs throughout the season, too many to possibly list here. You can get to all of the details at 2019-2020 Indoor Meet Results.

We had some great placings throughout the year, both individually and as a team.

The boys team WON our 3rd meet (beating Oyster River, Pelham, and 7 other teams). This was Pembroke's first indoor meet team win in history (PA started competing indoors in 2012). The girls team took 2nd at the same meet.

Across all of the meets this season our athletes took a total of 9 1st Places, almost doubing our 5 from last year.

Our season was topped off with the Division II State Championships. We had 13 athletes competing, 2 in individual events and the rest in relays.

We took home 3 differnt 5th place medals. The girls' 4x400, the boys' 4x200, and the boys' shot put.

This is the first time Pembroke Academy has medalled in the relays at indoor states and the first time both the boys' and girls' teams scored points at the same State Championships.

Finally, all kinds of School Records fell this season. For individual events there are 10 different events competed indoors, so between boys and girls there are a total of 20 records that can be broken - we broke 11 of them !

On the relay side, there are 4 main relays run thoughout the season, so 8 possible records between boys and girls - we broke 3 of them.

Next year should be even better !
